Will of Solomon Saylor, Sr.

I Solomon Saylor, Sr. of the County of Harlan and State of Kentucky do hereby make my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say that 1st I desire that out of my money I wish all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid if my money prove insufficient I wish enough of my just debts as shall remain unpaid out of the sales of the perishable port of my estate.

2nd. After the payment of my debts and funeral expenses I give to my wife Sally Saylor all the tract of land on the north side of Cumberland River where I now live containing about between sixty-five and a hundred acres more or less. I give her also a certain Negro man named Joe together with all money note accounts arising to my estate also all the balance of my perishable property with all household and kitchen furniture with everything else herein not mentioned for and during the term of her natural life and after her decease I give the same to my children and one granddaughter that is to say Dicy Blanton herein after mentioned equally to be divided among them and to be enjoyed by them forever together with all I have heretofore given them to enjoy forever. All the rest of my estate both real and personal of whatever nature or kind so ever it may be not herein before particular disposed of I desire may be equally divided among my several children and Dicy Blanton. I wish her after the decease of wife Sally Saylor to have and equal part of my estate which remains at her death that is with my nine children or their heirs which give to them their heirs executors administrators and assigns forever, and lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my friend Charles J. Calloway executive of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all others or former Wills or Testaments by me here for after made, In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand, affixed my seal this 29th day of April in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and forty six.
